Jean-Marie Guffens is an incredibly charismatic person, an intellectual but also a hedonist, but above all he is a complex man. C. C. stands for two of his five parcels, which together cover an area of around one hectare in the appellation. Here Guffens combines the fruit of two sites, «La Côte», which faces north-east, where the vines are rooted in a thin layer of humus (strewn with stones) on limestone, and «En Carementant», an east-facing plot where the vines stand on clay-limestone. The fragrance of this wine is unbelievable, constantly recomposing itself and making use of orange peel and peach aromas as well as a wonderfully light, almost fleeting floral scent and a magical nutmeg note. There is life here, a dynamism that is second to none! The presence of this wine on the palate is intoxicating, but without losing any of its precision and elegance ... how does Jean-Marie achieve this? Magical. The finish of the wine is - as you can imagine - breathtaking and delivers as you would expect. After all, it is a Guffens-Heynen!
