Riesling Auslese Bernkasteler Doctor

The aromas of sweet wines are very, very rarely as clear and without "background noise" as in the 2020 vintage. Overripe, golden-yellow Riesling berries - no raisins, no - and almost free of botrytis gave rise to a wine whose crystal-clear, dancing, playful aromas transport you into an unfathomable world of aromas that you absolutely must get to know if you like Riesling and sweet wines! Incidentally, this applies to all of Thanisch's Predikat wines from the 2020 vintage, from Kabinett to Spätlese and Auslese. Of course, the Auslese is the most serious of all the predicate wines and also the wine that requires the most patience, but also the one that has the most to give in the end. Yellow-fruity aromas combine with honey-melon, apricots and a mysterious hint of Moroccan mint to create a noble perfume. Spicy moments on the palate are followed by a not-too-sweet blossom-honey aroma, which gives the wine its almost infinite length. The finish, however, refreshed by ripe pink grapefruit, is fine, no, delicate and so wonderfully playful, almost light-footed. This wine is amazing!
