How wonderful this wine smells, it enchants every connoisseur, makes his breath catch and makes it clear that something big, I mean something BIG is going on here. I'm not quite sure yet, but I have the feeling - and I've rarely been wrong about this - that this wine can rival the legend, the 1998, once the 2016 reaches maturity. The aroma of tropical fruit is unbelievable, like ripe papaya, for example, and the next round the wine takes in the glass, wonderful passion fruit notes work their way to the surface. Passion fruit, that was before, now there are spicy components such as ginger and fine kitchen herbs in interplay with malty, indeed malty notes. This depth! Unbelievable! Muscular yet silky, it moves through the palate and its wonderfully balanced acidity shapes the athletic body into an Adonis. Treat yourself to this elixir and give it time. You will be amazed at what an unspeakably beautiful wine this Auslese R will develop into. Dear Franziska and Dominik, you have wrested something very special from Mother Nature! Thank you very much!
