Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Les Frionnes

2021

Traubensorten Chardonnay
Trinktemperatur 12° - 14°

The vines in the Frionnes vineyard face south-east on sparse clay-limestone soil. On average, the plants here have an impressive 60 years under their belts. Of course, the grapes for the Frionnes also ferment spontaneously, i.e. without any pure yeasts being added to the must. «What else», as they would say in advertising. As befits a true Lamy, the wine is aged naturally and constantly on its lees in used wooden barrels of various sizes and increasingly in large (600 liter) French oak barrels. For Olivier, a Frionnes is usually a «late bloomer», i.e. a wine that is best given a little more time before it is enjoyed. Patience is rewarded with wonderful aromas of citrus fruit zest - alternating oranges and limes - ripe, yellow apple notes, a delicious floral scent and a mighty impressive minerality that shapes the fragrance in a mysterious way. Fresh, precise and wonderfully elegant, the wine finally flows through the palate and ends wonderfully mineral ... you can almost feel it like fine crystals in the mouth, the minerality. Frionnes is pure elegance!
