Saumur blanc Clos des Carmes

2018

Traubensorten Chenin Blanc
Trinktemperatur 10° - 12°

Clos des Carmes is located in the Brézé vineyard, a monopoly of the Guiberteaus and belongs to the Très Grand Vins de Saumur for Maurice Edmond Saillant, who was better known as Curnonsky. Curnonsky was THE gastronomy journalist of the 20th century in France. A connoisseur! The Clos des Carmes is a breathtaking wine that is incredibly deep. Aromatically it is a stunner, quinces, white currants, citrus fruit peel, herbs, a little smoke and dug up, damp earth combine to create a great perfume. The wine flows gracefully onto the palate, caresses it, begins to build up pressure in the middle and finishes with incredible finesse, complexity, clarity and juiciness. The wine is fascinating from the first contact to the last moment. Please give the wine some bottle age, put it away and enjoy Les Moulins or the Clos de Guichaux while you wait for Brézé and the Clos des Carmes. You will be delighted!
