I met Mike through my buddy Chris Hammell. You know, Chris, the guy who is Vineyard Manager at Bien Nacido Vineyard and makes a few cases under his own label, which he now calls True Believer. Unfortunately, Michael only makes tiny quantities, but they are really "hot stuff", to use Kurt Angerer's expression. They are real "cool climate" wines, by Californian standards of course, because they all grow in Santa Maria, where people like to wear a jacket after 5 p.m., even in summer! Check out these wines, if you like Californian wines, you will be delighted by their finesse and elegance! By the way, Mike's family comes from Ticino. Now you know why there is a certain European touch to these wines!
