It is undeserved that 2017 stands in the shadow of the 2016 vintage and perhaps also somewhat in the shadow of the 2015 vintage. Have you ever wondered what makes a great vintage? It's usually the longevity that scores the extra points. Do we really enjoy the ageing potential so much? Do we want to have to put each vintage away for at least ten years before the wine gives us maximum pleasure? Or do we want a wine whose grapes have been allowed to ripen on the vine for a long time, a seductively fragrant, full-bodied, silky wine that can easily lie for ten or 15 years, but doesn't have to, because it already gives enormous pleasure in its youth? For my part, I am only looking for maximum enjoyment and I am not interested in whether a young or old wine gives me this. The 2017 Brunello from Potazzine is an elegant, multi-layered wine that, like the 2014, you can enjoy straight away or, if you enjoy it more, you can put it away for three or four years. In any case, you should get hold of this fabulous wine! Absolutely!
