Even Potazzine's "normal" Brunello is of extraterrestrial quality. So what does their Riserva smell and taste like, what is its texture and how does the wine flow? Expectations are high, enormously high in fact. It's a shame that only very few people will ever find out how hellishly good this Riserva is. Its aroma alone takes your breath away, not only because of its intensity, but also because of its playful, constantly changing aromas, which range from spicy - cedar wood, for example, or fine tar notes, licorice - to fruity - ripe red cherries. There may even be a few blackberry notes, only to give way to a hint of menthol in the next second, which is gone as quickly as it was there. Fascinating! Powerful and dense, the wine glides through the palate, showing wonderfully ripe and therefore fine-grained, even velvety tannins, and finishes unimaginably harmonious. To the point, of course. Divine!
