The fruit from five vineyards - all cultivated by DuMol himself - is combined here to create a wine that represents the region and the climate in a classic way. Boy, does that sound trite. Sorry! I'll try again: what's in here grows west of Highway 101, somewhere between Sebastopol, Windsor and Occidental. Sonoma, of course; it's cooler here and if you do it right - like Andy Smith for DuMol and Ted Lemon for Littorai - you can produce wines that definitely have a European character. Wonderful, this scent of green apple, white flowers, all wonderfully transparent, wrapped in a delicate hint of freshly toasted brioche. Superb, this fragrance, this perfume. Powerful, yet controlled, not expansive, no, with composure, i.e. contours, with structure and energy, wonderfully mineral, the wine flows through the palate and entertains at the highest level. I can only warmly recommend this wine to you!
