We often read «Vieilles Vignes» but in this case it really is appropriate, because the vineyard is over 70 years old, and some of the vines are even older. Several harvests yielded different results, with different qualities, which together form a wine that leaves me speechless - not an easy thing to leave me speechless, as some of you know. The aromas are manifold and range from Granny Smith aromas to the scent of freshly torn lemon zest, playful, almost fleeting floral aromas and spicy components. A hint of freshly toasted bread can also sometimes be smelled, but only subtly and never in the foreground, just like the wonderfully subtle scent of filled beeswax honeycombs, which means that honey is also involved. The wine moves impressively silky through the palate until the moment when its acidity works its way through the wine's massive extract and heralds a fresh, juicy, endlessly long mineral finish. Wow, this is a wine that touches and of which you can hardly have too much in the cellar! Bet you'll love this wine!
